Tip: Stretch Your Neck and Traps Like This

Keep your neck and traps happy and prevent shoulder injuries with the yes/no stretch. Here's how to do it.

With great traps come great responsibility. Do these drills to keep 'em loose and healthy.

  • Start with "getting water out of your ears." Don't raise your traps or scrunch. Place one hand on the side of your neck and stretch "over" the hand. Repeat without the hand.
  • Now imagine there's a table beside of you. Press into the invisible table and lean your head away. From that position, make controlled "yes and no" motions.
