Chris Shugart:
@jtbrown: Don't jump to any conclusions, but I just read an article that talked about how many anorexics use veganism or vegetarianism to cover for anorexic tendencies. Something to watch for, just in case.
FitDre:
Yes I've had good success with training the deficit deadlifts. I use a custom made wooden box 2.5-3 inches high. Get the hips moving well! Thank you!
FitDre:
Great Mike! I just came off a deadlifting meet myself last week. Pulled a new PR of 435lbs. Gonna de-load and then start up again in another week doing 1RM about once / month. Can't wait to see your next article bud! Thank you.
Doug643:
why do so many who write about squatting continue wanting to eliminate the quadriceps from doing there job, am I losing my mind or isn't the prime mover of a squat the quadriceps?
FitDre:
Thank you Charles for the great article. Many great points. I loved the metaphor of taking new languages in the 9th, 10th grades etc. One thing which would help myself and the readers would be a link or references to the techniques you listed, "rest-pause, Waterbury's 25 along with any other articles you consider worthy. Yes, one can google them but I'd appreciate the ones you give a thumbs up to instead. Thank you!
TOMatoPASTE:
... of these, removing exaggerated arch from my squats and deads has been a recent development. Doing so has allowed me to better activate the core and has also allowed me to realise a serious twisting force that's likely causing the injuries. I think more lifters/coaches need to be aware of those with very mobile spines. I've had several clients improve through this alteration as well! Cheers
