Senior Internal Revenue Service officials knew agents were targeting tea party groups as early as 2011, according to a draft of an inspector general's report obtained by The Associated Press that seemingly contradicts public statements by the IRS commissioner.

The IRS apologized Friday for what it acknowledged was "inappropriate" targeting of conservative political groups during the 2012 election to see if they were violating their tax-exempt status. The agency blamed low-level employees, saying no high-level officials were aware.

But on June 29, 2011, Lois G. Lerner, who heads the IRS division that oversees tax-exempt organizations, learned at a meeting that groups were being targeted, according to the watchdog's report. At the meeting, she was told that groups with "Tea Party," ''Patriot" or "9/12 Project" in their names were being flagged for additional and often burdensome scrutiny, the report says.....

How does one help a poor community? Unemployment and welfare can help out those in need but, that can not last forever. Money can be invested in a family or individuals to start a business but, how much can that do if the neighborhood and surrounding areas are all poor? Who is going to be the business? I thought this article had a pretty interesting little chart in it. I found it right after I read an article somewhere about a study showing that 97% of scientific studies into climate change argue that climate change is indeed occurring and man is the force acting upon the climate and provoking this change. I always hear the argument that there isn't a consensus within the science community about this issue, and sure, there isn't. ONLY 97% of the scientific community agrees that the rapid acceleration of climate change that we are witnessing is man-made. There's still a stubborn 3% out there clinging to other theories. I'm sure those 3 percenters are probably funded by the oil industry.

Will be interesting to see how this plays out, both in the media, and with his political opponents. In the past, he has portrayed himself as a victim of a Toronto Star vendetta and, for some time, has cut off all access to his office by Toronto Star reporters. So, in a way this looks like media payback, but I believe that really, he has just completely lost the plot.
