Hey gang,
As we all know, rest is very important to people who lift weights and/or, are very physically active in some type of sport.
I was curious to what some of us like to use either regularly, or when you feel the need to help nod off.
Personally I use something most of the time.
My choice in order of effectiveness are;
ZMA, and "Night Rest" by source naturals.
ZMA, melatonin-3mg
The ingredients of "Night Rest" are;
Sodium-5mg
Magnesium-200mg
Glycine-500mg
Taurine-435mg
Passion Flower-120mg
GABA-100mg
Skullcap(leaf and stem)-70mg
Chamomile Flower Extract-60mg
Melatonin-4mg
I'd love to use the latest Biotest product, but I can't afford that on top of everything else I already need.
The above mentioned combo product really works very well.
And you can pick it up for right around 20 bucks give or take a couple. GABA, and the 4mg of melatonin really give it a nice punch.

I tried melatonin when I was in college, which would put it around 1763. Didn't notice much difference, but in truth I wasn't having any trouble falling asleep back then anyway.
Nowadays I use ZMA plus 5-HTP, plus my last BETA-7 dose of the day is right before bedtime. (Beta alanine supposedly helps too).
In the past I've used pretty large doses of inositol as well, which I think did help.

I found the melatonin sort of hit and miss. It helps more when you're re-adjusting a sleep pattern, as opposed to a general sleep aid, though it is helpful even at that.
I've heard good things about 5-HTP also.

For me it is ZMA and if I am wide awake, Melatonin.
I also add BCAAs because I always wake up at least 3 times per night. (Yes that is no typo, I wake at least 3 times) |

That can't be good. Have you tried anything else?
I would suggest something along the lines of what I mentioned or the new product Z-12 maybe no? |

Haven't tried the phenibut yet, but it looks good from everything I hear. That's the thing you know, it's so easy to put together your own "cocktail" of very effective items on the cheap. |

Phenibut's effects, at least to me, mimic the old GHB and Reviverant...sensation of "heavy limbs" and a general somnolence. I guess thats just what you get when you hit that GABA receptor. It doesn't knock you out, but you get sleepy and when you do go out you get somehigh quality REM sleep. I've been having some crazy ass dreams, which is a rarity for me. Phenibut is also just a de-chlorinated baclofen molecule, so if you ever have hiccups you've got an instant remedy :). |

Z-12 is the best stuff Tim's put out since MAG-10. |

I'd like to try Z-12. Feedback on it seems good, but it's a little out of my price range, especially if I needed the max dose. |

I also find this happens with melatonin. I wake up, go to the toilet, go the kitchen and eat and then go back to bed. This is at least 3-5 times per night. |

Yep.
But for me, it's ZMA and sex. Masturbation doesn't work quite as good as the real thing.
I am going to try Z-12 soon, as my sleep patterns are not consistent, and I've heard good things from a friend who has been using it (he suffers from insomnia).

ZMA every night. Use to take melatonin with it but haven't in a while. Will use an Advil PM if I'm really struggling to nod off. |
