Christian Thibaudeau: @ Serge... regarding fluid shift, from experience it's not really possible to avoid some shifting to the extracellular compartment (between skin and muscle) during the day. Typically this happens about 20-60 minutes post-workout. A diet lower in sodium and higher in potassium would favor intracellular water retention but would not totally prevent shifting

Christian Thibaudeau: @coolusername: no, the jerk dip is not like the vertical jump dip. The simple fact that your torso shouldn't change angle (imagine going down back to a wall) prevents it since the hip will not go back either, even if the knee angle is the same, the ankle, hip and torso angle are different.

-Sigil-: @Facko - Ok, that makes sense and I totally agree with you. When it comes to adherence/implementation though, I've found myself straying when I allow too many "unclean" food. Sure that's not the unclean food's fault, it's my own lack of control/willpower. When it comes to snacking at night, I just cause too much duress allowing chips/candy etc. vs. egg whites/lean meat..aka much easier to overeat

facko: (cont) that said..my initial statements were in regards to "clean" eating. Which to me..is an arbitrary term, impossible to define..and relatively pointless when most are consuming a varied, whole food diet as the brunt of their intake (as they should if they consider themselves a BBer). Figuring "unclean" food into your daily macro allotment will not change your physique for the negative nor will it halt your progress...

facko: @Sigil..well the thing is, what I'm saying...high protein should be a key factor in ANY diet for a bb'r/athlete/powerlifter etc. I'm not talking about uncontrollable consumption of carbs. First calories need to be figured..then you factor in at least 1g/lb of bw of protein..subtract those cals and make up the difference with the energy macros. In a deficit..I will assure you under those guidelines..there will be little difference between the low fat/high carb group and the high fat/low carb
